Freshta Afghani Design
Freshta Azizi is a businesswoman, educator, and community leader based in British Columbia, Canada. Originally from Afghanistan, she has established herself as a powerful voice for Afghan culture and women's empowerment within the Afghan-Canadian community.
Before moving to Canada, Freshta served as an educator at the University of Kabul, where she trained future teachers — shaping the next generation of Afghan educators. Her transition to Canada came with significant challenges, but she never lost her identity, her vision, or her determination. Instead, she channeled every obstacle into strength and used it as fuel to build something meaningful.
That determination led to the creation of Freshta Afghani Design — a brand dedicated to bringing Afghan culture, tradition, and fashion to Afghan-Canadians across the country. Through authentic Afghan clothing and cultural products, Freshta built a trusted name in the community. Building on this success, she expanded her vision to large-scale cultural events, organizing the Afghan Eid Bazaar — her first major event — which brought together over 30 vendors and attracted more than 700 attendees in a single day. The event became a landmark moment for the Afghan community in British Columbia, welcoming people from all cultural backgrounds.
Beyond business, Freshta is deeply passionate about empowering other women — especially newcomer Afghan women — to build their own businesses and find their footing in Canada. She actively mentors women entrepreneurs in her community, helping them turn their skills and dreams into reality.
Freshta is a woman of strong vision and clear goals. She rebuilt herself with even greater strength after arriving in Canada and continues to grow both as a businesswoman and a community leader. Her mission remains clear: to preserve Afghan culture in British Columbia, share it with the broader Canadian public, and inspire the next generation of Afghan-Canadian leaders.
"Every challenge I faced became a stepping stone. I want other Afghan women to know that their strength is enough to build something extraordinary."
